Protecting homes and businesses from the threat of rising sea levels is vitally important.
In Lowestoft site investigation work has been carried out, a scheme has been agreed and work will start shortly on building permanent flood walls around the harbour to replace the temporary barriers that have been used in recent years.
A tidal barrier will then be constructed in the Outer Harbour. Preparatory work is also underway on the Kessingland Flood Risk Management project.
I am supporting both schemes so as to ensure that they secure the necessary funding so that they can be completed as soon as possible.
